I must have run through 10 different scenarios, a thousand questions, and perhaps 4 different decisions in the period of 20 minutes. I couldn’t decide whether to keep the blonde or go back to dark hair. This past week I went in and Lauren gave me her time and attention when I had a super «indecisive» moment. She gradually turned me to a blonde while, simultaneously dealing with my wildly indecisive hair quests. I had «virgin» hair when I came to her and trusted that should would take care of me. They’re polite on the phone and very receptive when you come in. She asks about my family whenever I see her and remembers conversations that we’ve had in the past– asking about work, places I’ve visited, etc… I definitely recommend this salon– obviously I think highly of Maria, but the rest of the staff has been extremely nice, too. :) Not only is Maria good with the hairstyling, but she’s also very personable. I was really nervous about going so short at first, but it looks great! I love my new hair. I now have short hair (pixie cut) and she does a fantastic job of making the style work with my thin hair. Maria did exactly that– so I went back to her. I struggled to find someone who could give me a good balance of style with some body added in. I used to have longer hair, though rather thin. I happened upon Maria a while back and haven’t gone to anybody else since. I used to get my haircut twice a year, going to any random hairdresser that had an appointment available when I needed it. I’ve been going to this particular Bubbles salon for several years now for one reason: Maria. While the service they got was fine, I would not return here and just stick with Flow Blow Dry Bar where they do great blowouts and have very clear and set prices for each style. I have never heard of being charged additional for using basic styling tools, especially when I was already quoted a $ 35 price and they had very basic styles! I have had blowouts at several salons both in the area, in NYC and LA and I have never been charged anywhere else for using a curling iron or flat iron. When we checked out, I was told that the price was $ 45 for each because there was an additional $ 10 charge each for using a curling iron or flat iron. They were quoted upcharges for braids, but decided against that due to the steep prices. Both girls got basic traditional blowouts - smooth with big barrel curls at the bottom. This is the same price as Flow down the street (which was my first choice, but booked), so I made the appointments. When I called on the phone to make the appointments, I was quoted a price for $ 35 for a wash and style. I brought 2 teenage girls here for a special blowout before their homecoming dance.
